Jasmine Rice LeBeija

Currently Based: New York City
BIO:
Jasmine Rice LaBeija is a Juilliard-trained operatic tenor, internationally acclaimed drag artist, and one of New York City’s most magnetic nightlife icons — a singular performer redefining the intersection of classical excellence and queer artistry on the global stage.
In 2025, she made history as the first drag artist to reach the finals of Britain’s Got Talent, earning a coveted Golden Buzzer and captivating millions with her operatic virtuosity and luminous presence. A proud Korean-American and the International Godmother of the Royal House of LaBeija, Jasmine moves seamlessly between opera houses, concert halls, drag stages, and cultural institutions — bridging tradition and transformation in every performance.
Now expanding her international profile, Jasmine was invited by Yale University to present a featured recital and headline Hartford Pride. She recently participated in a Metropolitan Opera workshop as Miss Tang Bao in Huang Ruo’s The Wedding Banquet Act I. Her 2025–2026 season includes a return to the Guggenheim Museum for the Works & Process Holiday Concert, appearances with Art Bath in New York City, and a collaboration with The Bearded Ladies inside the abandoned Macy’s building in Philadelphia — continuing her reputation for bold, site-specific theatrical work.
Most recently, Jasmine appeared as a featured headlining guest at Gold House’s Lunar New Year celebration, co-hosted by Heated Rivalry breakout star Hudson Williams — affirming her presence at the intersection of AAPI excellence and LGBTQ artistry.
Her performance credits include Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, The Shell, and major stages across the U.S. and abroad. She has appeared as a special guest soloist with the San Diego Symphony alongside Megan Hilty under the baton of Rob Fisher, and has delivered acclaimed solo recitals at Lincoln Center and the Guggenheim, solidifying her status as a true crossover artist.
Beyond opera, she is a beloved fixture of NYC nightlife, drawing celebrity audiences including Loren Allred, Tom Daley, and Chappell Roan. She starred in the Emmy Award–winning short Inside & Outwards, narrated by Sarah Jessica Parker; hosted Verizon’s Shorty Award–winning series Dragged; and made her Off-Broadway debut as Hillary Clinton in Five: The Parody Musical. Her film work has screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, and she served as the face of NYC Pride 2020.
Jasmine’s classical foundation began at The Juilliard School, where she performed Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and gave her debut recital in Weill Hall. She later trained at Mannes and the Music Academy of the West, performing leading Rossini roles and participating in Carnegie Hall’s prestigious The Song Continues masterclass series with Anne Sofie von Otter.
Blending classical mastery, drag brilliance, and theatrical innovation, Jasmine Rice LaBeija stands as one of the most compelling and genre-defying performers of her generation — commanding opera houses, nightlife stages, and international screens with equal power and precision.
