As part of the partnership, Peppermint is also announcing the launch of the Pride & Power Initiative, a collaborative campaign designed to transform Pride Month into a season of action — mobilizing LGBTQ communities and allies around voter engagement, trans equality, housing protections, storytelling, and civic participation at a pivotal moment for transgender rights and LGBTQ visibility nationwide.
The initiative will amplify advocacy efforts already underway at GLAAD and A4TE while creating new opportunities for public engagement through digital campaigns, educational resources, social activations, voter outreach, and Pride Month programming.
Quote from Peppermint:
"Pride isn't just something we attend — it's something we do. It's how we show up for each other, how we protect our communities, and how we fight for a future where every LGBTQ person can live openly, safely, and joyfully. That's why I'm so excited to partner with GLAAD and Advocates for Trans Equality. Pride & Power is about turning our visibility into action and reminding people that our voices, our stories, and our votes have power."
Through the initiative, GLAAD and A4TE will spotlight:
- Voter registration and civic engagement efforts ahead of the 2026 midterm elections
- Public education surrounding proposed rollbacks to federal housing protections impacting transgender people
- Awareness campaigns around attacks targeting transgender youth, healthcare access, and participation in public life
- Storytelling and media initiatives designed to increase understanding and visibility of transgender lives
GLAAD’s President and CEO, Sarah Kate Ellis (she/her), said:
"Peppermint has brought invaluable insight and innovation to our organization's programs and strategic vision. Her unwavering commitment to uplifting the most marginalized members of the LGBTQ community and to using her voice for good makes her beyond deserving of this honor. We are exceedingly grateful to Peppermint for the generosity of her time and spirit. GLAAD is proud to have her support in continuing our shared mission of accelerating acceptance for all LGBTQ people, especially trans Americans, during Pride and always."
