New York, NY – October 27, 2025 (Updated November 4, 2025) – Move over mistletoe, there’s a new holiday heartthrob in town, and his name is Robbie Simpson. He officially steps into the Hallmark spotlight as one of the featured contestants in Season 2 of Finding Mr. Christmas, premiering tonight [Oct 27] at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel.

Hosted by Mean Girls alum and certified “King of Christmas” Jonathan Bennett, co-host Melissa Peterman, the feel-good competition series celebrates the best of the season. From decking the halls and spreading cheer, to sharing personal stories that embody the magic of family and connection, Simpson joins nine other contestants to compete for the prize of becoming Hallmark Channel's next holiday leading man in an upcoming movie.

Simpson is best known for his recurring role as Chad on ABC’s General Hospital. Additional television credits include Hulu’s The Path, AMC’s Dietland, and SyFy’s Horror Movie. His off-Broadway credits include the original cast of the critically acclaimed Afterglow and Paradise Lost, As the Curtain Rises, Family Secrets, and Queerly Beloved, as well as work with The Mint, The Gingold Group, and The Juilliard School. Most notably, Simpson is especially known for his work behind the scenes as Director of Musical Theater at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, where he helps train the next generation of performers.

On this season of Finding Mr. Christmas, Simpson makes history as the only out gay contestant, bringing authenticity, acceptance, and visibility to a space beloved by millions of families each holiday season.

“It’s a total dream,” Simpson told GLAAD’s Anthony Allen Ramos. “I grew up watching these movies with my mom before I even came out to her. To think about a young Robbie — or anyone — watching this show and seeing themselves represented in a space that’s joyful and heartwarming, that means everything. It opens the door for conversations in such a beautiful way.”

In an interview with Out Magazine and PRIDE’s Ricky Cornish, Simpson reflected on learning from his host and mentor, Jonathan Bennett: “Jonathan Bennett is the king of Christmas, and he’s also the kindest mentor,” Simpson said. “He practices what he preaches, and being able to learn from him — how he carries himself on set, in interviews, and with fans — it’s been the best education you can get.”

As one of the newest Hallmark Channel holiday hunks, Simpson brings an infectious authenticity and theatrical flair to the screen, combining his background in acting, directing, and teaching with the warmth that defines the Hallmark brand.

“Being a Hallmark leading man is about more than charm,” Simpson added. “It’s about who you are as a human being, bringing that same kindness and joy to every set, every scene, every moment.”
