Currently Based: Los Angeles

BIO:

Tracy Gilchrist is a Los Angeles-based journalist, on-camera host, and veteran LGBTQ media editor known for her influential work covering queer culture and entertainment. A longtime voice in LGBTQ media, she has written and interviewed extensively for leading outlets including Out and The Advocate, where her work centers artists, storytellers, and cultural moments shaping the industry.

Now stepping into her independent media era, Gilchrist is creating new spaces to tell and elevate queer stories and the people behind them. She is the creator and host of the Holding Space podcast, where she sits down with artists, actors, and cultural leaders for candid, emotionally resonant conversations about craft, identity, and impact.

She gained widespread recognition for her viral “holding space” interview with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande during the Wicked press tour — a moment that resonated across the internet and within LGBTQ communities, underscoring her ability to create conversations that are both intimate and culturally defining.

About the 'Holding Space' Podcast:

Holding Space with Tracy Gilchrist is a conversation-driven podcast spotlighting the artists and storytellers shaping culture today. Built on trust, care, and curiosity, the series creates room for deeper dialogue — where conversations move beyond promotion and into identity, intention, and the emotional truth behind the work.

Through candid, thoughtfully guided interviews, Gilchrist brings out the layers behind performance, creativity, and public life, offering audiences a more human and connected understanding of the people they see on screen and stage. The podcast has quickly become a trusted space for meaningful exchange, rooted in queer storytelling and a commitment to elevating voices that are too often reduced to headlines.
