LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA — Thursday, March 19, 2026 — Pop powerhouse VINCINT joins host Andy Lalwani for the debut episode of the new comedy interview podcast Culture Shock, launching this week across major podcast platforms. In the candid conversation, VINCINT pulls back the curtain on viral fame, singing competitions, creative collaboration, and the realities of building a music career in the public eye.

Known for his powerhouse vocals and emotionally charged performances, VINCINT reflects on one of the moments that first introduced him to millions of viewers: his viral performance of Radiohead’s “Creep” on the reality competition series The Four. The singer reveals that the widely shared performance happened under less-than-ideal conditions.

“That performance is one of the most amazing things that’s ever happened to me,” VINCINT said on the podcast. “And to this day, people will walk up to me and say they watch it every day. And I’m like — this is wild because for me it’s only two minutes of my life that I had strep throat.”

Throughout the episode, VINCINT also shares his unfiltered perspective on music competition shows, saying the industry often leaves artists without guidance once the cameras stop rolling.

“I don’t like singing competitions at all. End of sentence,” he said. “American Idol, all of it. I think it’s strange to compete with a vocal gladiator. And I also don’t like the system of it all because they leave these singers out to the wild after they’re done. There’s no process afterwards to help them do anything.”

On the ‘Khia Asylum:

VINCINT also discusses his friendship with pop star Meghan Trainor, pushing back against internet narratives that dismiss the singer’s cultural impact and labeled as being in the Khia Asylum. The singer noted that the former Four judge has been supportive of every endeavor since their time on the hit show.

“Meghan is one of the most prolific writers of our time and made an entire career on her own,” VINCINT said. “Then she reshaped herself and built an entirely new career on TikTok.”

VINCINT went on to say: “She's a friend and she's always been super supportive and super sweet and she always messages me when I put out music.”

On Collaborating with Other Artists:

Elsewhere in the conversation, the artist reflects on his creative philosophy and the importance of working with collaborators who share the same emotional and artistic values — including his work with acclaimed indie pop duo Tegan and Sara.

“I’m very particular about who I work with because of energy,” VINCINT said. “When it comes to making music and living in the world, I want to be proud of it when I look back in 10 years. And I want to work with people who actually check in on me and care about my heart and my mind.”

Hosted by red carpet personality and entertainment interviewer Andy Lalwani, Culture Shock invites musicians, actors, and cultural figures to drop their polished public personas and talk candidly about the awkward, messy, and unexpectedly funny realities of navigating fame in today’s media landscape.

New episodes of Culture Shock will feature conversations with artists, television personalities, and cultural voices unpacking career pivots, viral moments, industry myths, and the chaos of modern celebrity.

The premiere episode featuring VINCINT is available now on all major podcast platforms, and here on Spotify 👇🏽
